toilet paper tube snowflakes, a few favorites (and marriage)

It is after Christmas.  All the leftover wrapping paper is on sale (we found the best deal and variety at Target ☺and might I add have once again declared their b'rooms the cleanest with the best foam soap), and the Valentine's day pink and red LOVE everything makes it's happy appearance.   December is almost gone, but love will grow on.  A few of my favorite CHRISTmas gifts this year that would work great if you need ideas for "heart" day ☺

a beautiful, personalized new family "thankful" book
so thoughtfully ordered by my sweet sister (in another country)
and safely delivered just in time ♥

snowflakes...
1. collect toilet paper, wrapping rolls
2. cut into slices however thick or thin desired
3.  pinch together edges
4. glue together in any shape
5. (if brave) line edges with glue and GLITTER ☺
we also had flowers, butterfly's, cat, etc. etc.
which I insert as an introduction to the next portion of this post.
When choosing books, dvd's related to marriage, these are some things I keep in mind as I read.  This is a collection of the author's perspective and experience.  Just as there are not two snowflakes alike (even in the toilet paper roll realm) there are not two marriages alike.  Each person is created with purpose to be unique, with different family and life experiences.  I read something in the 90's from an author I respected that said something like "the best sex starts in the kitchen".  I laugh everytime I hear that.  Obviously, that was true for them, and if it is true for your marriage then take that little bit of "wisdom".  If not, it is not necessary to completely disregard the rest of the book, rather search out what is helpful.  The following resources I like to think of as a small visit *not to be substituted for professional and godly counsel for a marriage in trouble, rather as a supplement to stay healthy* with followers of Jesus who have gone "before" us in marriage as they share the "testimony" of what God has taught them.
4 Days to a Forever Marriage
I have grown to love this couple through the wisdom they have shared in books I have read.  This book is based on the principal that each day we must choose...
"choosing love or anger...and it isn't as easy as it sounds."   I am thankful for the wisdom that comes from years of life...we all need to see and hear honest and practical examples of "what to do" from those who are "older" in marriage
Watch these videos to learn more about the lessons in each day of the book

"Love at first sight is easy to understand; it's when two people have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle."  Levenson
Valentine Gift idea
Your sweetheart will be expecting a gift on Valentine's Day, but what if you were to surprise him or her with a V'day's gift on some other day of the year?  Frankly, you will pay the highest possible price for flowers, cards, even dinner on the actual day, and you will have to put up with crowded restaurants, and other venues.  But if you celebrated Valentine's Day, say on February 10, you might well find it to be a much more satisfying experience. p. 49
May your unfailing love rest upon us,
O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
Psalm 33:22
