The Phantom of the Opera. I know, I allowed myself the luxury of losing 2 hours of the day and being captured in dramatic emotion. (well as captured as you can get while you are putting together train pieces with a four year old!) It is a tragic, yet beautiful story...a girl who believes she hears the spirit of her father...a "mad" man imprisoned in the darkness and belief of his own mind...is there really a "point of no return"? No. With God (and in this passionate "fantasy") love does conquer all. Love sets the prisoner FREE...from the pain and lies whose roots reach to the depths of the heart and mind...she tells him...it is not the outward "infection" but "it's in your soul that the true distortion lies...". And I love this... "Pitiful creature of darkness...what kind of life have you known? God give me the courage to show you...you are not alone." for that is what we must do with people. "Hear" past the angry words..."feel" farther than the manipulation that threatens to do harm..."..."See" more than what is reflected in the mirror...for that is how God loves us. Love like that is powerful...
transforming...and liberating...and life-changing.
