We have been waging an invisible "war" against mean, bad, wicked germies (not the 24 hour kind) around here.  "Super" man and "wonder" woman spent most of last weekend tag-teaming the clean up of (throw-up...and that's all I'll say).  So thankful to say this weekend has been less eventful and that after three days of making it my main goal to disinfect the entire house, I finally worked up enough courage to do so today...

without opening windows to let out the smell of Lysol or allow in icy 22 degree air.  All of that to say, if you are up at night taking care of babies, changing poopie diapers, faithfully loving children of any age...you ARE a true hero. 

When I first ordered this book, I guess I had an idea in mind of what it would be about.  Inside beauty, you know, the kind that only Jesus can do.  I have to say, it was different from what I expected.  Kim Meeder is an athletic adventurer.  She writes of her experiences (and when I say experiences, I mean...hanging off an icy cliff, encountering a mama grizzly, finding a wounded turtle while snorkeling...) sort of like Jesus told parables.  Always asking God what she can learn and take away from each situation.  Many of us tell our daughters if they know Jesus, that they are "princesses" because their heavenly Father is the King of all Kings.  Fierce Beauty is a book of hope, but as I read it challenged me of the importance to teach our little girls to trade in their "tiaras" of entitlement for the "sword" of truth.  We are in a battle that is bigger than just flu "bugs".  Chapter 11 just might be my favorite.  That is all I'll say, read it :).
