"humble" and "cast"ing in honor of the first day of "trout"

reading this...Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 2 Peter 5:6-7 To have the same Philippians 2 attitude that Jesus did...he considered himself nothing and took on our sins. For me, that means if Jesus was willing to take my sins, surely I can take responsibility to repent of and confess my sin to God (and if necessary to anyone I have harmed). Oh, you know the previous pic of that overloaded truck? that's what happens when you do not CAST (from what I understand about fishing - this being the first day of trout and all - to "cast" is to throw out your line FAR, smoothly, WAY out into deep waters and whatever "bait" is on it will be swallowed by some sort of fish creature...so what you end up with is more valuable than what you threw "out". Maybe, this analogy is not completely working for me...) your cares on the Lord and you try for a moment to handle them your self. :). "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."

  1. I never thought of casting in that way but I think you made a good analogy and application!
