"When the Hurt Runs Deep" by Kay Arthur

I've noticed in life that a person who has anything of value to offer on the subject of pain is usually one who has been there deep.  I've also noticed that deep pain finds healing deep in the WORD.  This book by Kay Arthur is testimony to both.  She gently reminds the reader that in the darkness of pain you are not alone.  There IS purpose.  She allows the reader to ask the hard questions...why? what about Job? anger? guilt?
My favorite part of the book is actually...the Appendix ☺. All of the book is good, but the "Practical Helps" that Kay offers here are quite honestly valuable and compact  "therapy".  She mentions how David in the Psalms was constantly bringing God into everything.

"This triad -- rejoicing always, praying without ceasing, and giving thanks always for all things -- is a declaration of faith and trust that not only pleases God, but strengthens you, giving you a divine energy that enable you to continue.  The very act of doing all this reminds you that God is there for you and you are not alone."

There is more good stuff... get the book and let your heart be "cheered" on by a fellow sufferer.  One thing I know for sure...In this life there WILL be trouble, but take heart, God has overcome the world!

An individual or small group study guide is included in the back.
You can check out the Study Guide here .

at the end of the book Kay Arthur invites the reader to conversation.  Have the precepts of God helped you with healing and hurt? Become involved in study of the Word.  Find out more about inductive Bible study here www.precept.org/hurt.
