the river (on ways to "GO")

could not decide
if this post should be called the
"month of the river" or
"GO?! or bring them IN"...
"river hospitality"
"what a river is for"...
so...
here is a "mess" of it all (with pictures to make up for what is lacking in written thousands).
rivers are for "gathering"
to worship
for bringing "in"
for giving back
(in tithe...in offering...in parents dedicating new gifts of life)
what belongs to Him ☺

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.  Psalm 46:4
rivers are for
rehearsing
buried to sin and self
washed and alive to Christ
(previous baptism picture...
this time only managed to snap
behind the scenes of
 happy, wet children ☺)

a river is always
always
moving
hosting beauty
rivers are for
playing...and for
resting

rivers cause a "need" for bridges
For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son,
how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Romans 5:10

rivers are for hospitality

for "travel"
and coming
together
Russia and India
"came"
to us!

Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy...Psalm 98:8

  1. Loved the day of the service in the park and the time together afterwards. Great verse to go with the bridging of rivers!

Thank you for taking such good care of the students and I am thankful for your heart of love for others Annette.

  2. I love the verse you chose to go with the photos! Makes me think of the old hymn Shall We Gather at the River.

We have done river baptisms in Russia and here in Belize. For one of them in Russia the ice had to be chopped to make a path for the pastor and the men being baptized!

    joy & blessings to you,
    Alida

  3. I am always taking pictures of bridges--something about them, don't know what it is. I enjoyed the pictures and the way you pointed to scripture. Beatiful!
